How to disconnect Instagram or Facebook, remove a Nook, or delete your HereNook account and everything in it.

The short version

  • Disconnecting Instagram or Facebook deletes the access token, the stored post details and the thumbnails straight away.
  • Removing HereNook in your Instagram or Facebook settings does the same.
  • To delete your whole account, open Settings → Danger zone in HereNook Studio. It happens straight away.

On this page

  1. Disconnect in HereNook Studio
  2. Remove HereNook in Instagram
  3. Remove HereNook in Facebook
  4. Remove a Nook or what’s on it
  5. Delete your whole account
  6. What we may keep
  7. Not a HereNook account holder?

Disconnect in HereNook Studio

  1. Sign in at app.herenook.com.
  2. Open the Nook with the Social feed, then open the Social feed Nooklet.
  3. Choose Disconnect next to the Instagram account or Facebook Page.

We delete the access token, all stored post details and all thumbnails for that account at once. The Social feed then disappears from your Nook.

Remove HereNook in Instagram

  1. In the Instagram app, go to your profile and open the menu (☰), then Settings and activity.
  2. Open Website permissions, then Apps and websites.
  3. Under Active, choose HereNook, then Remove.

Instagram may label these menus slightly differently. Instagram then tells us you removed HereNook, and we delete your HereNook data for that account straight away.

Remove HereNook in Facebook

  1. In Facebook, open Settings & privacy, then Settings.
  2. Open Business integrations (or Apps and websites).
  3. Choose HereNook, then Remove.

Facebook then tells us you removed HereNook, and we delete your HereNook data for that Page straight away. If you were sent back here with a confirmation code, it appears at the top of this page.

Remove a Nook or what’s on it

In Studio you can change or remove what your Nook shows at any time, and move a whole Nook to the Trash, which takes it offline. Things you remove in Studio can still sit in our storage for a while. To have them erased for good, ask us as described below and tell us which Nook or files you mean.

Delete your whole account

  1. Sign in to HereNook Studio and open Settings, then Danger zone. It shows what will be deleted.
  2. If you have a paid plan, cancel its renewal on your Plan screen first.
  3. Type DELETE and choose Delete my account. Your sign-in, workspace, Nooks, uploads, enquiries, insights and any connections are deleted straight away, and you get a reference code.

Your Nook addresses and QR codes stop working once your account is deleted, including codes already printed.

What we may keep

  • Billing records such as invoices and payment history, for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Backups roll over on their own; deleted information is gone from them within 30 days.
  • A note that we deleted your account (when, and the confirmation code), so we can answer questions about it.

Not a HereNook account holder?

  • You sent a message through someone’s Nook: email [To fill: privacy email address] with the Nook’s address and the email you used. We will work with the business that owns the Nook to delete it.
  • We built a sample Nook for your business: contact us and we will take it down.

More detail is in our Privacy policy. Questions: [To fill: privacy email address].
